Gayle E. (Boven) Garbrecht was born on August 4, 1947 in Vogel Center, Michigan. She was a lover of black licorice and Jovan Musk perfume. She never turned down a piece of custard pie or an apple turnover. Elvira or Kokomo, were her two top favorite songs and she went to as many oldies concerts as she could. She also loved her weekly bowling league and bringing meals and snacks to friends and coworkers.
Gayle always had a heart for those less fortunate. She played a big part in fundraising for the Relay for Life and collecting donations for the Grand Rapids Veterans Home. In her later years, you could find her on Friday nights around the card table, playing hand and foot with her friends. Her proudest accomplishments are her two daughters she raised single handedly. She was their biggest supporter and made sure she always told them that she loved them more.
Gayle was preceded in death by: her parents, Minard “Mike” Boven and Helen Lutke Boven; her brother and sister in law, Wayne H. Boven and Carol Euwema Boven; and her infant sons, Adam and Aaron Garbrecht.
Gayle is survived by: her daughters, Krista and Kenda Garbrecht; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Gayle will be held Friday, January 3, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lakeshore Memorial, 11939 James St, Holland, Michigan 49424, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
