ALLENDALE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 13, 2025) – Nobody was hurt, but damage was extensive after a fire on Monday night at a mobile home park in Allendale.
Crews from five departments, as well as Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies and Grand Valley State University campus police, were called to the Allendale Meadows complex off of Lake Michigan Drive west of 48th Avenue around 10:25 PM. One unit was completely engulfed in flames, while efforts were underway to keep the blaze from spreading.
Residents were evacuated safely as the fire was eventually brought under control. The resident of the unit that was ablaze said that a faulty electric fan running in a bedroom burst into flames that quickly spread throughout.
The mobile home is considered a total loss, while several other units suffered heat damage, and some vehicle parked nearby were also casualties to the blaze.
