She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Naedyah Ayala and her parents, Antonio López and Celenia Rivera.
She is survived by her daughters, Yajaira and Angel Ruiz, Yadira Medina; grandchildren, Alejandro Ferrer, Amanda Ruiz, Naiyely Ayala, Evangely Ayala, Isaac Ayala; great grandson, Liam Carlos Ferrer; siblings, Israel Lopez, Jose “Che” Lopez, Manuel Lopez, Luis Lopez, Angel “Tito” Lopez, Sergio Lopez, Raphael Lopez, Efriam Lopez, Wilfredo Lopez, Laurdes Lopez, Maria Lopez, Geraldina Lopez, Aracelis Lopez; many nieces and nephews.
Carmen was a strong and devoted woman who dedicated her life to providing for her two daughters, Yajaira and Yadira. She was a loving grandmother to Alejandro, Amanda, Naiyely, Evangely, and Isaac, and she embraced with great joy the blessing of her great-grandson, Liam. She cared deeply for her brothers and sisters and always looked after them with genuine affection. Carmen honored her parents with steadfast love and service until their final days. She was known for the warm smile she carried everywhere she went, a smile that made others feel welcomed and encouraged. She often reminded those around her that “God is good,” sharing her faith not just with words but with the way she lived. Above all, she loved God wholeheartedly and served others with passion and humility. She enjoyed taking photos and being present at her grandchildren’s activities, capturing memories and celebrating life with them. Her legacy of faith, service, joy, and unconditional love will continue living in the hearts of all who knew her.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland. Burial will be in North Holland Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.

Le sobreviven sus hijas, Yajaira y Angel Ruiz, Yadira Medina; sus nietos, Alejandro Ferrer, Amanda Ruiz, Naiyely Ayala, Evangely Ayala, Isaac Ayala; su bisnieto, Liam Carlos Ferrer; sus hermanos, Israel López, José “Che” López, Manuel López, Luis López, Ángel “Tito” López, Sergio López, Raphael López, Efraim López, Wilfredo López, Laurdes López, María López, Geraldina López, Aracelis López; y muchos sobrinos y sobrinas.
Carmen fue una mujer fuerte y dedicada que entregó su vida a sacar adelante a sus dos hijas, Yajaira y Yadira. Fue una abuela amorosa para Alejandro, Amanda, Naiyely, Evangely e Isaac, y celebró con gran alegría la bendición de su bisnieto, Liam. Amó profundamente a sus hermanos y hermanas, siempre pendiente de ellos y demostrando un cariño genuino. Carmen honró a sus padres con amor firme y servicio hasta sus últimos días. Era reconocida por la sonrisa cálida que siempre llevaba en el rostro, una sonrisa que hacía sentir bienvenidos y animados a quienes la rodeaban. Con frecuencia les recordaba a las personas que “Dios es bueno”, proclamando su fe tanto con sus palabras como con su manera de vivir. Por encima de todo, Carmen amó a Dios con todo su corazón y sirvió a los demás con pasión y humildad. Le encantaba tomar fotos y estar presente en las actividades de sus nietos, atesorando momentos y celebrando la vida junto a ellos.
