BRADLEY, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 10, 2026) – What a difference 15 years makes.
The Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi on Tuesday celebrates the anniversary of opening its Gun Lake Casino, off of 129th Avenue in Bradley, on February 10, 2011. The tribe has converted a former factory site near US-131, between Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, into a gaming house, a 252-room luxury hotel, a full-service spa, and a 32,000 square-foot tropical glass atrium.
It culminated a decade-long effort by then-Chairman DK Sprague to earn federal recognition for the tribe, as well as bringing legalized gambling to West Michigan.
In addition to the casino resort, the Gun Lake Tribe built a government campus, a convenience store, and a fast food restaurant across the street.
