HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, May 15, 2026) –Â Addressing hunger in the Holland/Zeeland community will be spotlighted this weekend.
Local members of the National Association of Letter Carriers will, on Saturday, be collecting bags of non-perishable food left at mailboxes of residences in the 49423 and 49424 zip codes. It’s a week later than the rest of the nation, due to the hubbub of the Tulip Time Festival last Saturday, and what is gathered will be split among the Community Action House, Gateway Mission, Resilience: Advocates for Ending Violence, and the Salvation Army of Holland.
On Sunday, the 47th annual Holland/Zeeland CROP Hunger Walk is slated for 1-3 PM at Centennial Park, with a goal of raising $70,000 for combating local and global food insecurity. Again, Community Action House will be among the agencies receiving support through this initiative, according to Food Rescue Specialist Joe Guzman III.
