GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 3, 2026) – A 32-year-old Virginia man could spend the next 12 to 36 years in a Michigan prison.
On Monday, Christian Montijo was sentenced by 20th Circuit Court Judge Karen Miedema after not contesting a number of charges stemming from assaulting an unnamed 31-year-old Holland Township woman over a several-month span. The matter began at the victim’s residence late in 2024, and he fled back to his home at that time. It continued five months later when he returned to this area and allegedly hid in her vehicle as she was getting ready to go to work. Montijo was subsequently arrested by state police troopers in the South Haven area.
