HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 18, 2026) – There will be uniformity in how police activities are video recorded along the Lakeshore by year’s end.
On Wednesday night, the Holland City Council unanimously approved a five-year contract worth nearly $1.6 million with Axon Enterprises for a comprehensive package of camera and taser equipment to supply the Department of Public Safety’s Police Services division. It includes hardware, software, licenses, installation, implementation, service, warranties, and training, at a cost of over $315,000 annually.
Police Captain Keith Mulder explained that going with Axos will bring Holland in line with all other law enforcement agencies in Ottawa and Allegan counties, making it easier for county prosecutors to consider video evidence.
Holland’s action came two nights after the Zeeland City Council approved a similar arrangement with Axon for its police department.
