HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 26, 2026) – A pending vacancy in the Holland District Court has been filled.
On July 6th, Anna White will step in to replace Bradley Knoll on the bench, after being appointed by Governor Whitmer on Thursday. White, a graduate of Hope College and Thomas Cooley Law School, had been in private practice before joining the Ottawa County Office of the Public Defender as a deputy public defender, and is a board member of both Movement West Michigan and Compassionate Heart Ministries.
She will complete the term of the 74-year-old Knoll, who was to retire at year’s end due to state judicial age limits. He had initially settled with the Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission to step down at the end of June, a half year before his term ended, following an incident in late of 2023 in which he admittedly struck his wife in a domestic altercation. Knoll pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge and was sentenced to four months probation.
In February, Knoll reportedly had a courtroom altercation with a defendant during a rental non-payment case and is currently facing a misdemeanor assault count in that matter.
