OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jul. 9, 2026) – How can Ottawa County be a better place for living and working?
County officials want to know, and this week, staffers from the Lansing-based survey firm EPIC/MRA will be contacting 400 randomly-selected residents over the phone, conducting around a 15-minute interview with each respondent about the county government’s direction, priorities, financial management, and how information is disseminated. It continues a tradition begun 20 years ago in providing a gauge for county leaders as to what direction they should go in meeting the needs of their constituents.
“Information from this survey will help us gauge whether our residents are satisfied with the work we are doing for them. Are we meeting their needs? Are our priorities aligned with theirs? And are we doing this within financially acceptable means? Our hard data shows we are doing things well, but we want to hear directly from residents. That’s why we’re asking those who receive a call to contribute 15 minutes of their time. The answers help make Ottawa County a better place for all of us.” – Shannon Felgner, Ottawa County Communications Director.
Survey results are expected to be disclosed at an Ottawa County Board of Commissioners meeting this fall.
