HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jul. 18, 2026) – Although the weather hasn’t exactly cooperated, officials with Latin Americans United for Progress are hopeful that its five-day annual celebration of the Lakeshore’s Hispanic heritage and culture will turn out to be a success by the time this weekend is over.
Hot weather affected the Wednesday morning kids activities during the Holland Farmers Market in the 8th Street Marketplace, while heavy smoke from Canadian wildfires over all of the state led to the cancellation of scheduled presentations during Thursday evening’s weekly Downtown Holland Summer Street Performer Series, and threatened a similar wipe out of a Friday night outdoor music concert in the Kollen Park band shell.
The big day for Fiesta is on Saturday at the Herringa Holland Civic Center Place, with a youth talent show, live entertainment, Mercadito vendors, kids activities, local food trucks and more during the day, while the Fiesta Baile features an evening full of music, dancing, and celebration.
Alejandra Guillen is the Executive Director of LAUP.
The 62nd annual Fiesta concludes on Sunday, with a car show outside of the Civic Center, and a World Cup Final watch party inside.
