HOLLAND, MI- After more than three decades of serving gyros, Chicago dogs, Italian beef and other favorites to the Holland community, Mr. Kozak’s Gyros in Downtown Holland is closing its doors.
The longtime restaurant announced that Friday, August 28, will be its final day of operation at its E. 8th Street location.
Mr. Kozak’s has been a familiar part of Downtown Holland for more than 30 years, serving generations of customers and becoming a go-to spot for those looking for a quick meal and classic Chicago-style favorites. The restaurant once featured a small indoor counter and seating, but in more recent years had operated primarily as a drive-thru restaurant.
In a post announcing the closure, the restaurant thanked its loyal customers for their support throughout the years and encouraged them to stop in for one last gyro, Chicago dog or Italian beef.
“After a wonderful 30+ years on E 8th St. serving the Holland and West MI communities,” the restaurant said, “Mr. Kozaks Gyros of Downtown Holland will be closing its doors for the last time this Friday, August 28th.
For longtime customers, Tomorrow will be the final chance to enjoy one more meal at a Downtown Holland institution and say goodbye to a restaurant that has been part of the local food scene for more than 30 years.
The Holland location was known as Kozak’s II as it was the second of two Kozak’s locations. The original which was located on Washington Ave. in Grand Haven closed permanently several years ago and currently runs as a New York Style Pizza place.
Mr. Kozak’s Gyros will be open through Friday, August 28 with hours of operation to be from 11am-6pm.
