Edwin J. Bouws, age 83, of Holland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 17, 1943 and lived his entire life in Holland, Michigan. He retired from the maintenance department at Park Township in 2005, although he never really stopped working. He was always known for fixing anything and everything. He kept busy doing side jobs & meeting friends for coffee daily. His greatest passions were Farmall tractors and Stock car racing. He loved watching Nascar and sitting in the sky box at the Kalamazoo Speedway. He was proud to be a part of FoxFire Pullers & was inducted into The Michigan Antique Tractor Pullers’ Hall of Fame in 2024. He took part in many tractor rides with the West Michigan Vintage Tractor Club. He loved restoring Farmall tractors & has quite the collection to be proud of.
Ed had a strong faith in God and a deep love for his family and friends. He was a longtime member of Central Wesleyan Church.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Janet Bouws; and siblings, James Bouws, Gordon and Ruthann Bouws, and Donna Balder.

A memorial service is planned for 12pm Saturday, October 3, 2026, in the Chapel at Central Wesleyan Church (use entrance G), 446 40th St., Holland, with Rev. Larry Erlandson officiating. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00-7:00pm Friday, October 2, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E 16th St., Holland. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital) and Cleveland Clinic (Give to Cleveland Clinic ‘ Cleveland Clinic).
