LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Oct. 9, 2026) – Converting a vacant building in downtown Grand Haven into a mixed-use development is getting a financial boost from Lansing.
On Thursday, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation announced that a $390,000 Michigan Community Revitalization Program performance-based grant will go towards rehabilitating the site at 123 Washington Avenue into commercial space on the ground floor, along with three two-bedroom apartments on the second floor, and a shared rooftop patio space. The building is a couple of blocks from the waterfront, and the grant will go towards the $2.2 million price tag for the project.
Property owner and developer Andrew Todtz is also seeking Housing Brownfield Tax Increment Financing support from the MEDC totaling nearly $600,000, with about half coming from anticipated local tax increment revenues.
