James H. Jipping, age 90, of Holland, passed away Friday, July 31, 2026 at Resthaven Care Center.
Jim was a member of Fourteenth Street Christian Reformed Church where he served as a Young People’s Leader, taught Sunday School, served as an Elder, operated the church’s sound system and served on numerous committees. Jim was also involved in the community as a Kid’s Hope tutor, an advisor on the Macatawa Area Coordinating Council’s Watershed Project, and computer programmer for Wildlife Unlimited and the Outdoor Discovery Center. He also taught Math and Physics at Southwest Minnesota Christian High School, Illiana Christian High School, and Holland Christian High School from 1970 until his retirement in 1994. Jim was active in his retirement and enjoyed camping, amateur radio, computer programming and getting together with friends and family.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, in 2020; his parents Martin and Kathryn Jipping; and his siblings, Henry Jipping, Michael Jipping, Emma Juchnie, Hannah Jipping, Lucille Ver Hoef and Robert Jipping.

Funeral services, with Rev. Marvin Hoffman officiating, are planned for 11:00am Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Fourteenth Street Christian Reformed Church, 14 W 14th St., Holland. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00-7:00pm Tuesday, August 4, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E 16th St., Holland. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland.
