Les Lanser went home to be with his Lord on July 30, 2026.
For 58 years, Les gave his life to a radio signal and the people on the other end of it. Les’s life verses, and he returned to them constantly – the promise that God works all things together for good, that nothing in all creation can separate us from His love. Les didn’t just believe that passage. He spent 58 years building a way to broadcast it. If you knew Les at all, you knew this about him: he could not keep the good news to himself. He shared the gospel with staff and sponsors, with listeners who called in and strangers in the checkout line. And – famously – with anyone who made the mistake of knocking on his door. He spoke often how he wanted to see every one of his grandkids in heaven someday.
He believed the work that he did was holy, and he treated it that way for 58 years. We are forever grateful for Les’s life, and for the legacy he leaves in our hands. Les is not separated from that love today. He is home in it.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kerri Kowalczyk; sister, Betty Jean Schripsema; brother, Lugene Lanser; and brother, Warren Lanser.
He is survived by his wife, Ramona Lanser; children, Vaughn and Del Rae Lanser, Greg Lanser, Steve and Gwen Lanser, Vicki and Dale Boven, Rick and Brenda Lanser, Curt Lanser, Brad and Diane Lanser; stepchildren, Heidi and Robert Curtis, Pamela and Calvin Hull, Jennifer and Nate Rubendall, Jason Klemm, Vicki and Travis Tibbetts, Michelle Klemm, Merli and Jonathan Abbott; 42 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; sister, Joann (Al Mulder) Meyer; brother, Pete and Jan Lanser; sister, Mary and Ken Wieringa; sister, Judy and Gord Brinks; brother-in-law, David Schripsema; sister-in-law, Beth Lanser; numerous nieces and nephews, former spouse, Millie Lanser, and extended family.
Visitation with the family is from 9:00-9:45 am Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Christ Memorial Church, 595 Graafschap Rd. Holland, MI 49423.
Memorial services are the same day starting at 10:00 am also at Christ Memorial Church.
Burial to take place in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
