LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 2, 2026) – A private youth provider on Holland’s North Side has, for the moment, had her family child care home license suspended.
On Friday, the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement and Potential issued that notice, along with an intent to revoke, concerning the permit of Stephanie Williams. This stems from alleged violations of the state’s Child Care Organizations Act, along with administrative rules, involving failing to do the following: Provide appropriate care and supervision of children at all times; ensure all personnel are conducive to the welfare of children; and maintain an outdoor play area in a clean, safe, and hazard-free condition.
The suspension took effect this past Thursday evening, and comes after a three-year-old child under her care had to be hospitalized following a June incident, according to the complaint issued against her. A subsequent investigation by state and county officials uncovered other violations.
Williams had been licensed for over six years. No date for a hearing on the intent to revoke her license before an administrative law judge was immediately disclosed.
