OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 4, 2026) – The Ottawa County Board won’t be meeting for long on Tuesday morning.
Commissioners will formally receive the recommended Fiscal Year 2027 budget during what is expected to be an hour-long session. The $243 million spending plan, which includes $138 million from the General Fund would necessitate taking $3.7 million in reserves in order to balance the books.
District 7 Commissioner John Teeples of Jenison has been impressed with what he’s seen thus far.
The board will schedule a public hearing for August 25th ahead of a final vote on the budget that morning. The governing panel will also receive a five-year Capital Improvement Plan during Tuesday’s 9 AM meeting, which will be in the Board Room of the county’s Administration Building, at the Fillmore Street Campus in West Olive (12220 Fillmore St.).
