WRIGHT TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 1, 2026) – A 66-year-old Belmont man lost his life in a single vehicle crash in the Marne area on Monday afternoon.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, the lone, unnamed motorist was driving a pickup truck around 4 PM along 8th Avenue. As the vehicle was heading northbound, it went past the intersection with Garfield Street, drifted off the roadway, and struck a tree. After being taken to an undisclosed “area hospital” in critical condition, the driver succumbed to his injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
